Will you prroofread Chinwag’s new book?

10/08/16

I’ve spent this morning profreading the final artwork for Chinwag’s Tale.  This is the quality cheking that goes on before we finaly commit to printing.  It should be simple – check the speling, check the punctuation, chick the facts – but it turns out to be frustratingly, maddeningly dificult!

The brain autmatically corrects so much of what we see, without even bothering to acknowledge there’s a problem.

So many people have already proofread this book, yet this morning  I’ve spotted words m ssing, splling  mstakes, and a wrong IBSN number. It’s a wonder we’ve got the title right!

It’s never a good idea for a writer to proof read their own work – they always end up seeing what they thought they wrote.  So how about you?  Would you help by proofreading a pdf?  And if you do, will you promise to keep it completely secret?

If you’d like to support the under-dog and help him become top dog, get in touch. We’ll email copies to the first five eagle-eyed proofreaders who volunteer.

PS Most of the mistakes in this peace were intentional…but I bet some weren’t!

PPS Why is it that I’m better at proofreading after I’ve presssed “Publish”?
